She said, since there is no sadness in heaven, if you need your pet there to be happy, it will be there. (Of course, once we get to heaven, we won't care at all about earthly things, but I do believe there will be animals in heaven since it seems God must like animals. For they were designed to be on the earth.

I do believe that in the new earth animals could exist, but not resurrected like humans. The new earth is still paradise though.

If animals can go to heaven, then that means some animals would go to hell. I'm not convinced that animals existing here and now (little Timmy's pet turtle) will persist into the new earth the way humans do.

Although, how great would it be to be re-united with my childhood pet hermit crabs Tank and Speedy? Do you not believe in the resurrection of the body, then?

I don't think animals go to heaven personally. And believe me, I'm saying that as a huge animal lover. I just posted about it on my own blog, if you care to read -- link under my name. Also animals are spoken of in the Hebrew Bible as "living things" or "souls" using the common Hebrew term /nephesh/, which is usually translated "soul" when referring to humans. Again, it's no proof, but it is a bit more evidence that animals also have a place in Heaven.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4152029133681792030.post-14110854709615580982009-01-13T16:21:00.000-06:002009-01-13T16:21:00.000-06:00Trust Nathan to give us Ecclesiastes... it's l...Trust Nathan to give us Ecclesiastes... it's like those Psalms... so depressing.
